Kristina Norvilaite – Geniusiene Exhibition’s MY CHILDHOOD CODES opening

  • Age  4+
  • Location – The foyer, Kaunas State Puppet Theatre

“My work often explores the theme of childhood, as I often draw inspiration from my childhood experiences. I have been visiting the Kaunas Puppet Theatre my whole life, and the experiences I had here as a child have formed the backbone of my artistic world. To return here to exhibit my work feels like coming full circle. I want to explore the child’s world. Every year I discover some code from my childhood hidden in my consciousness. When I find it, I have to solve it. This is how another exhibition comes into my life.

These paintings are dominated by a dynamic composition, the harmony of bright colors, which seem to respond to the frenzy of life”(graphic artist K. Norvilaite).

The works of the artist K. Norvilaite were created with linen engraving and mixed techniques and printed on paper, canvas and wood panels. The paintings are dominated by bright, decorative colors and their contrasts: white, black, yellow, blue, as well as an expressive linear carving. In these graphic works, the intensity of colors is organically combined with minimalist aesthetics.
