Performance “Delicious story”

Have you ever seen how puppets are born? No? In a play “Delicious story” you will. Not only will you see how they are born, you will learn a lot too. The performance is very modern, interactive and informative of how you can make puppets and even stage plays using primitive sources. “Delicious story” will submerge children 3-6 years old into the creative process, the world of fantasy, where everything is possible, using a very playful manner.

The wolf would never want to eat a sheep that came to visit him in his house because the sheep is tired, very soft. The wolf takes care of the sheep, worries for it to not be in danger. In this way the stereotypes of wolfs being cruel and angry are broken. A strong and unbreakable friendship is formed. The main message of the play is very relevant: “NEVER HURT OR HARM OTHERS”. Is this possible in real life? Of course it is!

Panevezys Puppet Wagon Theatre

Panevezys Puppet Wagon Theatre, established 35 years ago, is mostly associated with its founder Antanas Markuckis. In 1986 he assembled a group of enthusiastic puppeteers, the foundation for their long and hard work. Today Panevezys Puppet Wagon Theatre is the only one of its kind in Europe!

Every summer driven by two horses the theatre leaves to tour Lithuanian villages and cities. Every year the theatre chooses a different route and a different region to explore.

Every two years the theatre organises an international puppet theatre festival “suitcase”, gathering puppeteers from various countries, as well as “Puppet in the Street”, during which they stage plays in the streets of Panevezys.

Panevezys Puppet Wagon Theatre is also responsible for making puppet theatres more popular by organising now traditional amateur puppeteer festival “Clay-man theatre”.

The plays in the theatre are directed by not only Lithuanian professionals, but foreign artists too. Representing Lithuanian theatre culture in Denmark, Estonia, France, Sweden, Ukraine, Germany, Latvia, Russia, Norway, Holland, Belgium and Moldova, the theatre has won multiple awards.
